Beefed-up security for Bryan Adam

Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office (MPCO) has said that it has made a elaborate security arrangements to foil any untoward incident during the much-anticipated musical concert of Bryan Adams scheduled on Feb. 19 at Dashrath Stadium in the capital.
According to the plan, over 1,200 armed security personnel equipped with metal detectors, CCTV monitoring mechanism directly under the command of the police control room, bomb disposal teams, ambulance, water cannons to disperse rioters, patrol teams on riot control vehicles and firefighters will be mobilized.
For the first time in the history of musical concerts, the metropolitan police have come up with security arrangements in line with international standards given Bryan Adam’s reputation, reported TKP referring MPCO spokesman Madhav Prasad Nepal as saying.
He said police will keep a close eye on possible trespassers trying to sneak into the stadium without tickets. Police will also not allow a large number of people gather outside the venue.
All attendees will have to go through strict security check and a large number of plainclothes police will be mobilized in the stadium. Attendees will not be allowed to carry backpacks, water, beer bottles or cameras to the venue, Nepal said.
On the concert day, four main gates of the stadium will open which will lead to 13 other gates. Two gates will lead to ‘platinum and gold’ seating, while the remaining will lead to ‘Silver area’.
For security reasons, organizers are preparing to allow only 20,000 people to enter the stadium. “We have left no stone unturned to make the concert a success in terms of security,” SSP Nepal said.
